Fundraising Campaign for 2011 Memorials

The Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation is currently raising funds to help send deputy sheriffs to the 2011 California Peace Officer Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Memorial. Deputy Ken Collier, who was killed in the line of duty in February 2010, will be honored at both ceremonies. To properly remember Deputy Collier, his fellow deputies will attend the ceremonies. The DSF will help offset some of the costs. Attending deputies will participate in the moving candlelight vigils held at both the state and national ceremonies, as well as, the memorial presentation where Deputy Ken Collier will be among the peace officers remembered.

The DSF strongly supports law enforcement memorials each year and was instrumental in the building of the San Diego County Regional Law Enforcement Memorial at the County Administration Center. The foundation is currently working to build a Sheriff’s Department memorial at the Sheriff’s main office to honor the nine deputies who have given their life in the live of duty. Those nine deputies are also honored each year through the Line of Duty Scholarship program, which awards a scholarship in each of the deputy’s name to children of deputy sheriffs.

Your donations will help send a deputy to the state or national memorial and support the foundation’s scholarship program.
