Evacuations and road closures continue as fires burn across San Diego County and Southern California. At this time, the DSA office and store remain closed on Wednesday, October 24. The Thursday, October 25 Board meeting has been canceled.

For more information on evacuations, road closures, and other fire news, please visit these websites:

These evacuation sites are NO longer taking people: Campo Community Center, Steele Canyon High School, Escondido High School, and Del Mar Fairgrounds. Mira Mesa High School is full for people and pets, but is still serving food and providing pet supplies at this time, and can accept additional people as space opens up. At this time, Qualcomm Stadium is handling the majority of evacuees.

Stables at Del Mar Race Track and Fairgrounds are full. Miramar Air Station is now open for horse evacuations and the San Diego Humane Society near the Jamul fire station is set up for large animals. The Lakeside Rodeo grounds is near capacity, but accepting large animals. Smaller pets can be evacuated to the Escondido Humane Society. Red Cross evacuation centers are accepting pets in carriers. If you evacuated with your pet and need a carrier or pet supplies, head to Qualcomm Stadium (small pets only) where the humane society is set up to distribute pet supplies and help with animals without carriers. Fiesta Island is now accepting small and large animals.
